The soil...
The process we use to produce Hartzler's Farm Fresh Milk begins with the good earth. We use no herbicides or pesticides in growing the grains needed for our healthy Holsteins. Weeds are controlled through cultivation, not chemicals.

The livestock...
Our cows are raised and sheltered on our family farms eating nothing but natural healthy grains. During warmer months the cows freely graze and eat grasses in the field. They are given no artificial hormones to increase their milk production. At one of our farms the cows even have the privilege of sleeping on comfortable mattresses after a long day of grazing in the pastures.

The processing...
All milk is brought from the family farms to our processing plant where it is gently heated for pasteurization. However, we do not homogenize our milk. When cream is left in its natural state (you can see it on the top of our milk) it remains in the digestive system to be broken down by the liver and stored as one of the highest energy sources.

The bottling...
You can see the cream line on our milk because we put it in glass bottles. This prevents the absorption of unwanted chemicals from the container. Also, the milk stays cooler in the thick bottles and by recycling glass, we do something good for all of our communities' environment.

The delivery...
We are committed to providing fresh, wholesome foods to stores in our surrounding communities. In fact, we are so committed to this that we deliver our products in our own trucks. Our drivers are specially trained in keeping our products at an optimum temperature to ensure the fullest shelf life as well as freshest taste.
